Harris, Nets look to stay hot vs. Wizards

Dec 2, 2008 - 2:34 PM Washington (2-12) at New Jersey (9-7) 7:30 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- After leading the New Jersey Nets on an successful trip against some of the best in the Western Conference, Devin Harris returns home to face the worst the Eastern Conference has to offer.

Coming off a career night, Harris and the Nets host the Washington Wizards Tuesday.

The four-game West Coast swing got off to rough start last Tuesday with a 27-point thumping at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers. But the Nets reeled off three straight wins to close the trip, thanks in large part to Harris.

The point guard followed up a 34-point performance in Saturday's win over Utah with 47 on Sunday, leading New Jersey to a 117-109 win at Phoenix Sunday. Harris made 14-of-25 from the field and knocked down all 17 free-throw attempts while adding eight assists and seven rebounds.

Washington will look to avenge a season-opening 95-85 loss to New Jersey.

The Wizards have struggled to the worst record in the conference, losing two straight after winning the debut of interim coach Ed Tapscott.

Antawn Jamison had 26 points and 13 rebounds while Caron Butler added 21 and 10 as Washington rallied from a 17-point deficit before falling to Atlanta, 102-98, on Saturday.
