Spurs big three powering resurgence

Dec 6, 2008 - 11:19 AM Golden State (5-14) at San Antonio (10-8) 8:30 p.m. EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- With their big three back in the lineup, the San Antonio Spurs are starting to erase their early season struggles. That is bad news for the sluggish Golden State Warriors.

The Spurs go for their second straight win and sixth in the last eight games when they host the Warriors on Saturday.

Tim Duncan scored 21 points to lead six players in double figures as San Antonio snapped a two-game losing streak with a dominating 108-91 victory against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

Duncan added 12 rebounds, seven assists and five blocks, Tony Parker poured in 22 points and Manu Ginobili contributed 21 for the Spurs, who had its dominating trio together for only the fourth time this season.

Ginobili and Parker had missed a combined 21 games due to ankle injuries as San Antonio went 8-6 to start the season with one or both players out of the lineup.

With its stars back in line, San Antonio should continue its winning ways against the Warriors, who have lost each of their last eight games.

Stephen Jackson led the Warriors with 26 points and Jamal Crawford added 22 on Friday as Golden State endured a 131-112 setback to the Houston Rockets, its sixth straight loss on the road.
