Thunder hoping to repeat rare success against Grizzlies
Dec 10, 2008 - 11:37 AM Memphis (6-15) at Oklahoma City (2-20), 8:00 p.m. ESTOKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Wins have been few and far between for the Oklahoma City Thunder. They did, however, have success against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Oklahoma City hopes to snap a four-game losing streak when it hosts Memphis on Wednesday.
The Thunder had lost 14 consecutive games before posting a 111-103 victory at the Grizzlies on November 29. The 111 points were a season-high.
Oklahoma City has not won since, and is coming off a 112-102 setback to Golden State on Monday. Kevin Durant had a season-high 41 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
Memphis will try to win back-to-back games for the first time after defeating Houston, 109-97, on Monday.
Rudy Gay, who did not start the game because he was late to a team meeting, scored 20 points off the bench to lead the Grizzlies.
The game will end a dreadful streak for one team. The Grizzlies have lost seven consecutive road games, while the Thunder have lost nine straight contests at home.
