Hornets offense guiding success

Dec 10, 2008 - 11:37 AM Charlotte (7-14) at New Orleans (11-6) 8:00 p.m. EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The New Orleans Hornets are nearly unbeatable when the offense is in sync.

The Hornets go for their third straight win on Wednesday when they host the Charlotte Bobcats.

Chris Paul had 21 points, 11 assists and three steals on Saturday, pacing New Orleans to a 106-87 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. With the win, the Hornets improved to 9-0 when scoring at least 100 points and are 11-1 when leading after three quarters.

Paul, who has at least one steal in 101 straight games, is four contests shy of the record for consecutive games with a steal, set by Alvin Robertson, whose streak ended on December 29, 1986.

The Hornets should have little trouble earning their seventh win in eight games against the Bobcats, who have lost three straight, including a 100-96 setback against the Miami Heat on Monday.

The loss, the first stop of a three-game road trip, dropped Charlotte to 1-6 on the road. The Bobcats' lone victory away from home came during a 115-108 victory against the Indiana Pacers on November 28.
