James, Cavs aim for 11 straight wins

Dec 12, 2008 - 11:19 AM Philadelphia (9-13) at Cleveland (19-3) 7:30 p.m. EST

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers are so good, they barely need LeBron James anymore.

The Cavaliers will be looking for their 11th consecutive victory when they host the Philadelphia 76ers in the back end of a home-and-home series.

"King James" is second in the NBA in scoring but is barely averaging 35 minutes of playing time per game. Cleveland can afford to rest its superstar because it leads the NBA in margin of victory, winning by an average of 13.4 points.

The Cavs pulled out a relatively close one on Wednesday, taking the opener from the Sixers, 101-93. James had to play over 39 minutes, but he ended up with 29 points and five assists.

James got some help from Mo Williams, who scored 27 points and has been a superb wingman for James since coming over from the Milwaukee Bucks this summer.

If Philadelphia could not pull out the win on its home court on Wednesday, it is unlikely the team will pull one out at Quicken Loans Arena, where the Cavs are 12-0.

The Sixers got 27 points, nine rebounds and five assists from swingman Andre Iguodala and 22 points from Andre Miller on Wednesday.
