Warriors vie for season-high third straight win
Dec 12, 2008 - 11:18 AM Houston (14-8) at Golden State (7-15), 10:30 p.m. ESTOAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors have picked up a couple of wins thanks to games against some of the league's worst. They hope to continue that success against better competition.
Golden State will try for its season-high third straight win when it hosts the Houston Rockets on Friday.
The Warriors ended a nine-game losing streak with consecutive victories against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Milwaukee Bucks.
Stephen Jackson had 21 points and eight assists and Andris Biedrins added 18 and 14 rebounds in the 119-96 triumph over the Bucks on Wednesday. The Warriors had seven players reach double figures.
Houston is 4-3 without injured guard Tracy McGrady after Wednesday's 92-84 victory against Atlanta.
Yao Ming had 24 points and a season-high 19 rebounds to lead the Rockets, who throttled the Warriors, 131-112, on December 5.
