Kings try to avoid another loss vs. Knicks

Dec 13, 2008 - 11:28 AM New York (10-12) at Sacramento (6-17) 10:00 p.m. EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings ended a lengthy losing streak with a win against one of the NBA's best teams. The momentum did not last long.

The Kings look to bounce back from yet another setback on Saturday when they host the New York Knicks.

Sacramento ended an eight-game slide with a shocking 113-101 upset of the Western Conference-leading Los Angeles Lakers (19-3) on Tuesday.

Despite the victory, the Kings failed to earn back-to-back wins for only the second time this season, dropping a 112-103 decision in a rematch with the Lakers on Friday.

John Salmons scored 26 points and Beno Udrih added 17 for Sacramento, which made only 6-of-19 (31 percent) 3-pointers and allowed Los Angeles to make 50 percent (42-of-84) of its shots from the floor.

The Kings could be in for another tough game against the Knicks, who have won two of their last three, including a 121-109 triumph over the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday.

Al Harrington, who was acquired from the Golden State Warriors earlier this season, scored 26 of his season-high 39 points in the second half as New York snapped a six-game road losing streak.
