Granger, Pacers look to end six-game skid

Dec 15, 2008 - 2:37 PM Indiana (7-16) at Washington (4-17), 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Danny Granger and the Indiana Pacers hope to end their road trip on a positive note.

Granger will try to lead the Pacers to their first win since December 2, when they conclude a four-game road trip against the lowly Washington Wizards on Monday.

The 25-year-old Granger followed up his career-high 42-point performance in Friday's 114-110 loss to the Detroit Pistons with 22 points during a 121-103 setback to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.

A fourth-year pro out of New Mexico, Granger is coming into his own this season. The forward is averaging 23.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

While Indiana has shown promise behind Granger - with wins over the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers earlier in the campaign - the Wizards have spent the season at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Owners of the worst record in the East, Washington is trying to avoid a third straight loss after suffering a 104-89 defeat in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Caron Butler leads the club with 22.0 points per game.
