Warriors desperate to find win on the road

Dec 17, 2008 - 11:19 AM Golden State (7-18) at Indiana (8-16) 7:00 p.m. EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors hope a lengthy road trip will help reverse their dismal play.

The Warriors open a five-game Eastern Conference swing on Wednesday when they visit the Indiana Pacers.

Andris Biedrins had 23 points and nine rebounds while Marco Belinelli contributed 19 points off the bench for Golden State, which endured its third straight loss, a 109-98 setback to the Orlando Magic on Monday.

Despite the absence of Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard, the Warriors dropped their 12th decision in the last 14 games, making only 42 percent (38-of-91) of their shots from the field, including 5-of-18 from beyond the arc.

Jamal Crawford, who had 16 points and six assists, believes a road trip is exactly what Golden State needs to end its slide.

"Hopefully, we can take care of business on the road," Crawford said. "Right now, we just have to get back on track. We had a couple of wins and then lost three in a row. But I really think this road trip could be good for us to get away, go bond and get some wins."

The Pacers snapped a six-game slide with a 118-98 triumph over the Washington Wizards on Monday in the final contest of a four-contest road trip.

Indiana has not claimed back-to-back victories since winning three straight from November 8-12, but could end that drought against the Warriors, who are 3-11 on the road.
