Hawks hope to bounce back against Warriors

Dec 19, 2008 - 2:15 PM Golden State (7-19) at Atlanta (15-10), 7:30 p.m. EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks came extremely close in a loss to the Boston Celtics. They get a chance to rebound against an opponent that does not put up as much resistance.

Atlanta looks to get back in the win column when it hosts the Golden State Warriors on Friday.

The Hawks had their three-game winning streak snapped with an 88-85 setback to the Celtics on Wednesday. It was Boston's 16th consecutive win.

The contest went back-and-forth during the majority of the fourth quarter before Joe Johnson had a chance to tie for Atlanta with under two seconds to play, but missed the second of two free throws with Boston leading, 86-85. Johnson led Atlanta with 20 points.

Atlanta has gone eight straight games without scoring 100 points, but Golden State is allowing a league-worst 112.1 per contest.

The Warriors dropped their fourth straight game, 127-120, at Indiana on Wednesday.

Jamal Crawford had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead Golden State, which was opening a five-game road trip.

Atlanta will be playing the fourth contest during a season-high, eight-game homestand.
