Hornets eye revenge against woeful Kings

Dec 20, 2008 - 1:29 PM Sacramento (7-20) at New Orleans (15-7) 8:00 p.m. EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- A loss to the lowly Sacramento Kings last month proved to be the perfect wake-up call for the New Orleans Hornets.

The Hornets aim for revenge on Saturday when they host the slumping Kings.

Sacramento shot 55 percent from the field on November 19, forging an impressive 105-96 victory against New Orleans.

The Hornets have won 10 of 12 games since the loss, limiting opponents to 90.4 points per game over that span - ranking second in the NBA in defense during its run of success.

New Orleans has held its opponents under 90 points five times in the last 12 games, including each of its last two contests.

After surrendering 84 points in a seven-point victory against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, the Hornets claimed an impressive 90-83 triumph over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.

The Kings have lost back-to-back contests and six of eight games in December, including a 107-96 setback against the Houston Rockets on Friday.
