Warriors look for revenge against Heat

Dec 23, 2008 - 11:14 AM Golden State (8-20) at Miami (14-12), 7:30pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors have probably had this one penciled in for the last three weeks - a rematch of the one that got away.

After dropping an overtime heartbreaker to the Miami Heat on December 1, the Warriors will get the chance to return the favor on Tuesday as they continue a five-game road trip with a stop in Miami.

In the last meeting, Udonis Haslem buried a game-tying, buzzer-beater at the end of regulation to stun the Warriors' home crowd. In the extra session, the Heat came up with more heroics. Reserve guard Chris Quinn buried a tying 3-pointer with seven seconds left and rookie Michael Beasely stole the ensuing inbounds pass and drained the game-winning free throw as Miami pulled out an improbable victory.

The loss spoiled a 40-point effort from Jamal Crawford, who was upstaged by Dwyane Wade's 37-point, 13-assist showing.

Crawford outdid himself in his most recent outing, pouring in 50 points - the second-highest single-game total of his career - as the Warriors snapped a five-game losing streak with a 110-103 triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Warriors have played an NBA-high 17 road games - winning just four - and have two more on their current trip before finally returning home, albeit for just one night.

The Heat - one of the most erratic teams in the league - have won two straight, most recently a 106-103 triumph over New Jersey. The night before, they dealt the Los Angeles Lakers a rare loss, 89-87, behind Wade's 35 points.
