Paul, Hornets hope to bounce back
Dec 26, 2008 - 11:22 AM Houston (19-10) at New Orleans (16-9), 8:00 p.m. ESTNEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The New Orleans Hornets will try and avoid a season-high third straight loss when they host the Houston Rockets on Friday.
New Orleans is coming off its worst performance of the season, an 88-68 setback at the Orlando Magic on Thursday. New Orleans, which shot just 33 percent (28-of-84) from the floor, was down by 30 at the half.
David West led the lethargic Hornets with 13 points and Chris Paul had just 12 and four assists but did not record a steal - ending his NBA-record streak at 108 games.
Houston had its season-high, four-game winning streak snapped Tuesday, falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 99-90.
Rafer Alston scored 20 points, but Tracy McGrady netted just four in the loss for Houston, which won the first meeting with New Orleans, 91-82, on November 15.
The Hornets' two-game losing streak follows a stretch where they won 11 of 13.
