Iverson, Pistons hope to hold momentum

Dec 27, 2008 - 11:32 AM Detroit (16-11) at Milwaukee (14-16) 8:30 p.m. EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- It hasn't always been smooth since Allen Iverson joined the Detroit Pistons, but things might be starting to turn.

Iverson and the Pistons will be looking for their third straight win when they face the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

Iverson is averaging a career-low 18 points this season and Detroit is 12-11 since the perennial All-Star joined the team. He failed to record a field goal in the Pistons' 104-98 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, leaving in the third quarter with a groin strain.

He played despite the pain on Friday and finished with 22 points, draining a jumper in the lane with 0.2 seconds left to lift Detroit to a 90-88 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Tayshaun Prince added 16 points and 11 rebounds against the Thunder, marking his eighth double-double of the season.

The Bucks are riding a winning streak, too, having taken three straight and five of six.

Michael Redd led the way with 27 points on Tuesday as Milwaukee picked up a 94-86 win over the Utah Jazz.

Redd did not play on November 28 when the Bucks dropped a 107-97 decision at Detroit in the first meeting of the season between the teams. Iverson scored 17 to lead the way for the Pistons.
