Spurs look to keep rolling vs. Bucks
Dec 30, 2008 - 11:27 AM Milwaukee (14-17) at San Antonio (20-10) 8:30 p.m. ESTSAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The Western Conference's hottest team will look to avoid a letdown against an average foe from the East on Tuesday.
Winners of five straight, the San Antonio Spurs host the Milwaukee Bucks in hopes of avenging a road loss earlier this season.
All-Stars Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker were not on the court in the first matchup between the two as Milwaukee won, 82-78. Andrew Bogut scored 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and Richard Jefferson had 19 and seven in the win.
But that was then - now, the Spurs have charged right back toward the top out West.
The Spurs needed an extra 10 minutes Saturday to dispatch the Memphis Grizzlies. Parker scored 32 points to lead San Antonio to a 106-103 victory in double overtime.
Tim Duncan had 29 and Ginobili added 20 off the bench as San Antonio won its seventh straight home game after opening the season 5-5 at the AT&T Center.
San Antonio is back on top of the Southwest Division, a half-game ahead of the New Orleans Hornets. But fourth-place Dallas sits just two games behind in the crowded division standings.
Milwaukee had its three-game winning streak snapped Saturday against Detroit. Bogut had 17 and 10 but the Bucks shot just 30 percent (24-of-79) for their lowest offensive output of the season in an 87-76 loss.
