Clippers, Kings face off looking to halt skids

Dec 30, 2008 - 11:28 AM LA Clippers (8-21) at Sacramento (7-24) 10:00 p.m. EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Just when it appeared things could not get any worse for the Sacramento Kings, an angry group of defending NBA champions came to town.

Riding a six-game losing streak, the Kings host another struggling Pacific Division squad, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Tuesday.

Sacramento on Sunday suffered its worst home loss since moving there prior to the 1985-86 season, a 108-63 beatdown by the Boston Celtics, who had lost two straight.

John Salmons was the only Kings player in double figures with 11 points as the home team shot just 28 percent (19-of-68) and was outrebounded, 53-31.

Los Angeles enters the contest with a three-game losing streak after being routed by Dallas, 98-76, on Sunday. Marcus Camby and Al Thornton scored 16 points apiece.

The Clippers struggled offensively without Zach Randolph, who missed the contest with a sore left knee. He is expected to miss at least a week, leaving Baron Davis as the primary scoring option for Los Angeles.

Guard Ricky Davis was suspended for five games Monday for violating terms of the NBA's anti-drug program.
