Wizards go for third straight win

Dec 30, 2008 - 11:28 AM Washington (6-23) at New Orleans (18-9) 8:00 p.m. EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- After a horrid start to the season, the Washington Wizards are trying to turn things around.

The Wizards go for their season-high third straight win when they visit the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday.

Following an eight-game losing streak, Washington has won back-to-back games for the first time this season with victories over Oklahoma City and Houston.

Antawn Jamison scored a season-high 30 points and had 12 rebounds as the Wizards got their second road win of the season with an 89-87 triumph at Houston on Monday.

New Orleans has won consecutive games as well and is coming off a 105-103 victory over Indiana on Sunday.

Chris Paul had 19 points and 12 assists but it was David West who came up the biggest, burying the game-winning basket with two seconds remaining to lift the Hornets.

This is the first meeting between the teams this season. Washington swept the two games last season.
