Dec 30, 2008 - 11:27 AM Minnesota (6-24) at Dallas (18-12) 8:30 p.m. EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to achieve a season-first on Tuesday - win their second consecutive contest.

Minnesota goes for its second win in a row when it visits the Dallas Mavericks.

Suffering through their second straight dreadful season, the T-Wolves have yet to win consecutive games during the campaign.

Minnesota got its second win in three games on Monday as Al Jefferson had 38 points and 16 rebounds in a 108-98 overtime victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Defeating Dallas hasn't come easy recently for Minnesota, which has lost the last nine in the series.

The Mavericks are coming off a 98-76 victory at the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

With Dirk Nowitzki serving a one-game suspension, Josh Howard had 29 points, nine rebounds and a career-high seven assists in the win.
