Magic look to complete home-and-home sweep
Jan 9, 2009 - 11:43 AM Atlanta (22-12) at Orlando (28-8), 7:00 p.m. ESTORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- The Orlando Magic look to complete a home-and-home sweep of the Atlanta Hawks when the teams meet on Friday.
Dwight Howard had 23 points and 19 rebounds as Orlando won the first contest on Wednesday, 106-102, in Atlanta. It was Howard's 26th double-double of the season.
Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis each added 20 points in the win for Orlando, which is beginning to challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers (28-6) and the Boston Celtics (29-8) for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Since a six-game winning streak, the Hawks have now dropped two of their last three.
Josh Smith scored 21 points in the setback to the Magic - his fourth straight 20-point game.
Atlanta may have a difficult time gaining a split at Orlando, which has won its last eight contests at Amway Arena.
