Blazers put winning streak on line against Bulls

Jan 12, 2009 - 3:17 PM Portland (22-14) at Chicago (16-21) 8:30 p.m. EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers are a strong team without Brandon Roy. With their All-Star guard, they look like unbeatable.

Roy and the Blazers will be looking to push their winning streak to five games when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Portland earned a 113-100 win against Golden State on Saturday in Roy's return after a four-game absence due to a strained hamstring. The All-Star guard scored 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting in the easy win.

Without Roy in the lineup, the Blazers went 2-2, but those wins were over Eastern Conference elite Boston and Detroit.

LaMarcus Aldridge has shouldered some of the scoring load for the club, leading the way with 26 points against the Warriors and topping 20 in seven of the last nine games.

The Bulls are coming off an embarrassing, 109-98 overtime, loss to the lowly Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Chicago was outscored 15-4 in the extra period.

The biggest problem in the contest was the Bulls' inside play. They were outrebounded 53-37 and allowed center Nick Collison to score a season-high 21 points.
