Streaking Thunder aiming for third straight win
Jan 18, 2009 - 6:47 AM Miami (21-18) at Oklahoma City (8-33), 7:00 p.m. ESTOKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- After winning just three of their first 32 contests, the Oklahoma City Thunder have suddenly turned things around - and may even be thinking about a winning month.
Oklahoma City will try for a season-high third straight win when it hosts the Miami Heat on Sunday.
The Thunder are 4-4 in January and are coming off an 89-79 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday.
Kevin Durant scored 32 points in the win and is averaging 23.9 per game to lead Oklahoma City.
Miami, which has won two straight contests, is wrapping up its seven-game road trip. The Heat are currently 3-3 on the stretch.
The Heat had their two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, falling to the Houston Rockets, 93-86. Yao Ming made all 12 shots and had 26 points for Houston.
Dwyane Wade had 29 points and nine assists in the loss for Miami, which allowed Houston to shoot 56.5 percent (39-of-69) from the floor.
