Suns look to bounce back against struggling Raptors

Jan 18, 2009 - 6:47 AM Phoenix (22-15) at Toronto (16-25) 12:30 p.m. EST

TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Phoenix Suns have lost back-to-back games after wining six of their previous seven. Their recent struggles, however, are nothing compared to the Toronto Raptors' woes.

The Suns look to get back on track Saturday when they visit the slumping Raptors.

Phoenix was on the verge of a big move in the standings before its momentum was broken by a heartbreaking 119-113 overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

Former two-time MVP Steve Nash, who had 20 points and 14 assists against the Nuggets, was held to just six and six as the Suns endured a 105-103 setback to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

Despite a 6-0 run by the Timberwolves with less than two minutes left, Phoenix had a chance to escape with a win at the end, but Jason Richardson missed a 3-point attempt from the corner.

While the Suns will attempt to end a two-game slide, Toronto has dropped its last four contests, including a 111-104 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Friday.

It was the third straight game that the Raptors had surrendered at least 102 points as they endured four consecutive losses for the third time since December 1.
