Road has been most unkind to lowly Wizards

Jan 19, 2009 - 2:03 PM OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards have had a tough season thus far, and nowhere has it been tougher than on the road.

The Wizards go for just their third road win of the season Monday when they meet the Golden State Warriors to start a four-game road trip against Western Conference opponents.

Washington (8-31) is just 2-16 away from home. Both road wins - against New Jersey and Houston - came in December and the Wizards have won just two games this month.

One of those victories was Friday, a 96-89 victory over the New York Knicks. Antawn Jamison scored 28 points for the Wizards, who snapped a six-game losing streak with the win.

Jamison has been one of the few bright spots this season for Washington as the veteran forward is averaging 20.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.

Golden State (12-29) is 8-9 at home this season and is 2-1 on its current seven-game homestand.

The Warriors have won two of three and are coming off a 119-114 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Stephen Jackson scored 24 points in the win for Golden State after missing four games with a right hamstring injury. The Warriors went 1-3 with Jackson out of the lineup.
