Slumping Pistons, Grizzlies look to snap skids

Jan 19, 2009 - 2:01 PM Detroit (22-17) at Memphis (11-28), 5:30 p.m. EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons are struggling to get back in the win column. Playing against an equally slumping team could be just what they need.

Detroit hopes to snap a five-game losing streak when it visits the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

The Pistons are on their longest skid since a six-game stretch in 2003-04, but the Grizzlies have also lost five in a row.

Richard Hamilton scored 19 points to lead six players in double figures but Detroit lost to New Orleans at home, 91-85, on Saturday. The Pistons are 0-5 since Rasheed Wallace returned from a foot injury and 0-4 since Hamilton came back from a groin injury.

Allen Iverson, who injured his knee in the third quarter but continued to play through it, added 12 points in the close loss, but was taken out in a tie game with 3 1/2 minutes to play in favor of Rodney Stuckey.

Memphis has lost its last four games by double digits, including Friday's 101-91 setback to Utah.

Rookie O.J. Mayo scored 23 points in the loss, one game after netting a season-low six in Tuesday's loss to Cleveland.
