Inconsistent Hornets seek second straight win

Jan 19, 2009 - 2:03 PM Indiana (15-25) at New Orleans (24-13), 3:30 p.m. EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The New Orleans Hornets have struggled with consistency lately, but perhaps a lengthy stretch at home will cure such shortcomings.

Set to begin a span of playing nine of their next 11 contests at home, the Hornets host the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

New Orleans had alternated wins and losses for eight games before beating the Detroit Pistons, 91-85, on Saturday.

In that contest, Chris Paul recorded 23 points and 14 assists one game after posting a porous 5-of-14 shooting effort in a 92-78 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.

The Hornets, who are 12-5 at home this season, have not won consecutive games since December 28-30.

Indiana, meanwhile, has won two in a row and is looking for its first three-game winning streak since November 8-12.

Fresh off a 111-104 triumph over the Toronto Raptors on Friday, the Pacers have scored at least 103 points in 13 straight contests, a span in which they are 5-8.
