Pistons look to continue dominance over Raptors

Jan 21, 2009 - 11:25 AM Toronto (16-27) at Detroit (23-17), 7:30 p.m. EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons look to continue their recent dominance over the Toronto Raptors when the teams meet on Wednesday.

Detroit, which has not lost to Toronto at home since falling, 89-78, on April 2, 2003, snapped a season-high, five-game losing streak with an 87-79 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

Allen Iverson scored 27 points on 11-for-18 shooting, helping the Pistons improve to 10-3 when he scores 20-plus points in a game.

Despite the win, their offensive struggles persisted, as they failed to notch 100 or more points in a game for just the second time since December 23. Detroit last reached that mark in a 110-106 loss to the Indiana Pacers on January 14.

The Raptors, who are involved in many trade rumors this week, have dropped six consecutive games.

Toronto has suffered three losing streaks of five games or more this season, and has been without star point guard Jose Calderon for eight of the last 10 contests due to a hamstring injury.
