Timberwolves aim to continue surge vs. Bulls

Jan 25, 2009 - 7:13 AM Chicago (18-26) at Minnesota (14-27) 7:00 p.m. EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- In a matchup of teams headed in opposite directions, the reeling Chicago Bulls visit the suddenly streaking Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.

Minnesota bounced back from a road loss at Utah on Tuesday with arguably its most impressive win of the season Friday, a 116-108 victory over New Orleans.

Randy Foye and Al Jefferson scored 24 points apiece and the Timberwolves used a 37-point fourth quarter to capture the win. After opening the season 6-25, Minnesota has won eight of its last 10.

Jefferson has scored at least 20 points in four straight games and has recorded double-doubles in three of them. He added 14 boards against the Hornets while Foye and Sebastian Telfair dished out eight assists each.

Chicago starts its second seven-game road trip of the season without much momentum, having lost four straight games. The Bulls went 3-4 on their first trip from November 18-30.

The Toronto Raptors snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 20-point win in Chicago on Friday. Ben Gordon was one of five players in double figures with 19 points but Toronto shot 57 percent (43-of-76) in handing Chicago a 114-94 setback.

The Bulls have lost nine of their last 11 on the road while the Timberwolves have only lost one of their last six at the Target Center.
