Struggling Pistons host shorthanded Rockets

Jan 25, 2009 - 7:14 AM Houston (27-17) at Detroit (24-18), 6:30 p.m. EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- A change to the starting lineup has not helped the Detroit Pistons find any consistency recently.

Detroit will try and bounce back on Sunday when it hosts the Houston Rockets.

Richard Hamilton was removed from the starting lineup earlier in the week and the Pistons responded with a pair of wins against the lowly Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors, respectively.

However, Detroit was pounded at home by the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, falling 112-91. Hamilton had 17 points in 25 minutes to lead the way for the Pistons, who have lost seven of their last 10.

The Rockets have started to have injuries pile up and are coming off a 107-102 defeat at the Indiana Pacers on Friday.

Luis Scola scored a career-high 25 points to pace Houston, which was without Tracy McGrady (left knee) and Ron Artest (right ankle) before losing Yao Ming to a knee injury.

Houston did receive some good news on Saturday when X-rays came back negative on Yao's right knee. He is officially listed as a game-time decision.
