Jazz hoping to avoid fourth straight loss

Jan 27, 2009 - 2:24 PM San Antonio (29-14) at Utah (25-20), 9:00 p.m. EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- The Utah Jazz hope to avoid a season-high fourth straight loss when they host the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.

Utah has dropped three straight for the second time this season after Sunday's 117-97 setback at Denver.

Ronnie Brewer scored 16 points and Deron Williams had 15 and 10 assists in the loss for the Jazz, who have allowed 100 points or more in five straight contests.

While they continue to play without Carlos Boozer, the Jazz have lost all three games without Andrei Kirilenko, who is nursing a sore right ankle.

San Antonio had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 99-85 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

Tony Parker scored 19 points and Tim Duncan had 15 in the loss, which was just the fourth in the Spurs' last 18 games.

Utah, which went a league-best 37-4 at home last season, lost for the fifth time in 22 games this season at the EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday.
