Memphis hoping to halt streak

Jan 27, 2009 - 2:28 PM Denver (29-15) at Memphis (11-32), 8:00 p.m. EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies look to end a nine-game losing streak when they host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

Offense has been the majority of the problem for Memphis, which has only topped the 90-point mark once during its skid. The team is averaging 86.3 points over its past nine games.

Rookie O.J. Mayo scored 23 points in the Grizzlies' latest loss, a 99-88 setback to the New Jersey Nets on Saturday.

Denver has not had a problem scoring recently, averaging 116 points over its last three games.

The Nuggets have won their last two contests, including a 117-97 rout of the Utah Jazz on Sunday.

Nene had 28 points and nine rebounds, tying the franchise mark for most shots made without a miss by shooting a perfect 12-for-12 from the floor.
