Bosh, Bargnani lead Raptors against Nets

Jan 28, 2009 - 11:28 AM Toronto (18-28) at New Jersey (20-25) 7:30 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- With their players finally healthy, the Toronto Raptors are on the verge of an unlikely surge.

The Raptors will be looking to post three consecutive wins for the first time since the opening three games of the season when they face the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday.

Toronto got point guard Jose Calderon back on Friday at Chicago and snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 114-94 demolition of the Bulls. Calderon chipped in 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting and 10 assists.

Calderon was strong in Sunday's 113-97 win over the Sacramento Kings as well, collecting 16 points and eight assists. He has yet to commit a turnover since his return.

The Raptors have also benefited from the inside presence of Jermaine O'Neal, who has played in the last three games after missing 10 of 11 with a sore left knee. His presence has opened up the court for forwards Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani, who combined for 55 points in the win over the Kings.

New Jersey has dropped six of seven, including a 94-85 loss at lowly Oklahoma City on Monday. Top scorers Vince Carter and Devin Harris managed 18 points on 6-of-29 shooting while committing eight turnovers.

The teams split two meetings last month, with the Nets taking the most recent contest, 94-87 on December 15.
