Boston looks to make it 10 straight wins

Jan 30, 2009 - 11:15 AM Boston (38-9) at Detroit (25-19), 7:00 p.m. EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The brief struggles earlier this month appear to have been an aberration for the Boston Celtics.

Boston goes for its 10th straight victory on Friday when it visits the Detroit Pistons.

Following a franchise-record, 19-game winning streak, the Celtics dropped seven of their next nine contests, which included losses to Golden State and Charlotte.

However, Boston has answered that losing stretch with nine straight wins after Wednesday's 119-100 triumph over Sacramento. The Celtics' last seven victories have been by double digits.

Eddie House connected on a career-high, eight 3-pointers and scored 28 points off the bench in the win. Rajon Rondo added 24 points.

Detroit handed Minnesota its third loss in 13 games with a 98-89 victory on Wednesday.

Rasheed Wallace had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Allen Iverson scored 19 in the win for the Pistons, who outscored the Timberwolves, 27-17, in the fourth quarter.

Boston, which defeated Detroit in the Eastern Conference finals last season, has won the first two meetings this season by double digits.
