Hawks aim for back-to-back wins vs. Bucks

Jan 31, 2009 - 11:19 AM Atlanta (27-19) at Milwaukee (23-27) 8:30 p.m. EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Joe Johnson found his shooting stroke and the Atlanta Hawks cruised.

Johnson will look to keep the production coming when the Hawks shoot for back-to-back wins against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

During a recent three-game slide, Johnson averaged 16.3 points on 34 percent shooting (17-of-50). Atlanta's leading scorer found his rhythm on Friday, pouring in 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting en route to a 105-88 win over the New Jersey Nets.

Johnson, who leads the NBA in minutes, appeared to be wearing down as he averaged just over 17 points - down from 22.8 previously - and the Hawks lost eight of 12 after January 3.

Flip Murray and Mike Bibby combined for 43 points and Atlanta held the Nets to 40 percent shooting in the victory.

The Bucks are also coming off a win - their first since losing Michael Redd for the season last weekend. Charlie Villanueva led the way with 26 points and 13 rebounds in a 96-85 win over the Toronto Raptors.

The Hawks have won both meetings between the teams this season, including a 117-83 pasting on January 23, though Johnson managed just nine points.
