Wade, Heat look to snap mild skid against Clippers

Feb 2, 2009 - 2:54 PM LA Clippers (10-37) at Miami (25-21), 7:30 p.m. EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat look to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the lowly Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

The Heat suffered through a porous effort on the defensive end in a 111-96 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, falling to 4-13 when their opponents score 100 points or more this season.

Wade scored 30 points and rookie Michael Beasley finished with 18 and 10 rebounds for Miami, which also got 17 points from Mario Chalmers and 10 from Udonis Haslem. Still, it was not enough to offset a second straight setback after winning three in a row.

Selected to play in his fifth All-Star Game, Wade has led the Heat in scoring in 14 of their last 16 games.

Los Angeles, which has lost five in a row and seven of eight, is coming off a 106-94 setback to the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

Despite dropping 18 of their last 20, the Clippers have been pleased with the play of rookie Eric Gordon, who is averaging 23.6 points per game over the last three contests.

The former Indiana standout has led Los Angeles in scoring in six of the last eight.
