Celtics eye 12th straight win

Feb 3, 2009 - 3:30 PM Boston (40-9) at Philadelphia (23-23), 7:00 p.m. EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers will look to snap Boston's 11-game winning streak when the team clash on Tuesday.

Boston, which set a franchise record earlier this season with 19 straight wins, will try not to get caught looking ahead as the teams faces the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday in a rematch of last year's NBA Finals.

The Lakers snapped the Celtics' aforementioned winning streak on December 25.

With Kevin Garnett out due to a high fever, Paul Pierce scored 36 points to lead Boston to a 109-101 victory over Minnesota on Sunday. Pierce had netted 36 points in his previous three games combined.

Following a seven-game winning streak, the Sixers have gone 3-3. They fell to the New Jersey Nets, 85-83, on Saturday as they went the last 10:37 without a basket.

Andre Miller scored 19 points in the loss to lead Philadelphia, which is playing the third contest of a season-high, seven-game homestand.
