Thunder go for payback in rematch with Kings

Feb 8, 2009 - 8:21 AM Sacramento (11-40) at Oklahoma City (12-38) 7:00 p.m. EST

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- A week after a hard-fought loss at ARCO Arena, the Oklahoma City Thunder get another shot at the Sacramento Kings.

After falling in overtime on February 1, the Thunder look to get their revenge Sunday night as they host the Kings in a battle of the league's bottom-feeders.

In the previous meeting, Kevin Martin's 37-point showing trumped a star-making night from Oklahoma City's trio of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green. The three combined for 95 points, carrying the load as they've done all season.

Martin and the Kings were too much, as they snapped an eight-game skid with a 122-118 overtime triumph. They have dropped two straight since, while the Thunder are coming off one of their biggest nights. The rebuilding club upended the rising Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, as Durant outplayed his 2007 draft class counterpart, Greg Oden, en route to a 102-93 victory.

Sacramento endured its most lopsided defeat of the season - in fact, the most lopsided in the entire NBA - on Monday, falling to the Phoenix Suns, 129-81. The team followed with a sturdy effort against the Utah Jazz on Friday, but the result was the same as the Jazz prevailed, 111-107.

The Kings will once again be without center Brad Miller, who has missed the last three contests with an abdominal strain and is likely out until the All-Star break.
