Oden, Durant meet again when Blazers host Thunder

Feb 11, 2009 - 11:35 AM Oklahoma City (13-39) at Portland (31-19) 10:00 p.m. EST

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Greg Oden and the Portland Trail Blazers came out on the losing end of the first matchup with Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Coming off one of his best performances of the season, Oden and the Blazers go for their second straight win on Wednesday when they host Durant and the Thunder.

In the inaugural meeting of the first two players taken in the 2007 NBA Draft, Durant, the second overall selection and reigning Rookie of the Year, poured in 31 points on Friday, leading Oklahoma City to a 102-93 victory over Portland.

Oden, the No. 1 overall pick who missed all of last season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right knee, got into foul trouble and only recorded four points and two rebounds in 16 minutes.

However, the 7-footer bounced back with a strong effort on Sunday, logging 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. Brandon Roy's layup at the buzzer lifted the Blazers to a wild 109-108 victory over the New York Knicks.

Durant had another impressive performance on Tuesday, but his 31 points and 10 rebounds were not enough as the team's two-game win streak came to end during a 105-98 setback to the Los Angeles Lakers.
