Bobcats hope to cruise into break with a win

Feb 11, 2009 - 11:35 AM Washington (11-41) at Charlotte (20-31) 7:00 p.m. EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Bobcats are mixing and matching their way into the All-Star break.

The Bobcats will try to steal one more win before a six-day layoff when they face the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

Charlotte has been dealing with injuries to starters Raja Bell and Gerald Wallace and introduced Vladimir Radmanovic to the lineup on Monday while Juwan Howard, who had been filling in as starting forward for Wallace, missed the contest with an inflammed big toe.

The Bobcats expect to have all of their injured starters back by Tuesday, when they return from a six-day All-Star induced break.

Coach Larry Brown did some tinkering with the lineup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, starting Desagna Diop for the first time and putting Sean May in the contest for the first time in 28 games.

The lineup worked, as Radmanovic scored 13 points in his Charlotte debut and five players reached double figures to help the team snap a five-game slide.

The Wizards have dropped four of five while allowing 116 points per game. They lost a 111-90 decision to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday while committing 17 turnovers and shooting 2-of-13 from 3-point range.

The Bobcats have won the first two meetings between the teams this season, most recently in a 92-89 decision at Washington on January 10.
