Howard, Magic aim to rebound at Bobcats

Feb 20, 2009 - 3:11 PM Orlando (39-14) at Charlotte (22-32), 7:00 p.m. EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- After suffering their most lopsided defeat of the season, the Orlando Magic could be looking for another super-human effort from Dwight Howard to get back on track.

Howard and the Magic visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

Orlando lost at New Orleans, 117-85, on Wednesday, one day after posting a 107-102 overtime victory against Charlotte. Rashard Lewis scored 17 points and Orlando allowed New Orleans to shoot 58 percent (46-of-79) from the floor.

Howard scored a career-high 45 points and added 19 rebounds and eight blocks in the victory against the Bobcats. He became the first player in NBA history to record such a stat line since the 1973-74 season when blocks first started being recorded.

However, Howard had just 12 points and eight rebounds against the Hornets in the loss.

Charlotte bounced back from the overtime loss to post a 103-94 victory over Indiana on Wednesday. It was Charlotte's third straight home win.

Gerald Wallace had 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bobcats, who had six players in double figures.

The Bobcats have lost five of the past six meetings.
