Lakers begin road trip against Timberwolves

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers' have surged to the top of the Western Conference thanks to their outstanding record at home. With a majority of their remaining games coming on the road, the Lakers' mettle will certainly be tested.

Los Angeles goes for its fourth straight win on Sunday when it visits the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Lakers own a lofty advantage atop the West standings on the strength of a 26-4 record at the Staples Center that includes a thrilling 115-111 overtime victory against the New Orleans Hornets on Friday.

Los Angeles plays four of its next five games on the road and 15 of its final 26 contests this season will come away from home, beginning with a two-game trip that starts against the Timberwolves.

Minnesota is coming off its sixth loss in the last seven games, a 112-105 setback to the Indiana Pacers on Friday.

Randy Foye finished with a career-high 36 points and Ryan Gomes scored 26 to lead the Timberwolves, who were a dismal 23-of-41 from the foul line.
