Rested James, Cavs visit red-hot Rockets

Feb 26, 2009 - 11:22 AM Cleveland (44-11) at Houston (36-21) 8:00 p.m. EST

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- With the outcome rarely in doubt, LeBron James received plenty of rest during the Cleveland Cavaliers' last game.

James probably won't spend much time on the bench Thursday when the Cavaliers visit the surging Houston Rockets.

The NBA's second-leading scorer who is averaging 28.7 points per game this season, James had only 15 points, eight assists and five rebounds in just under 30 minutes as Cleveland pounded the Memphis Grizzlies, 94-79, on Tuesday.

Daniel Gibson added 19 points off the bench for the Cavaliers, who improved to 26-1 at home, notching their third straight triumph there since their lone setback against the Los Angeles Lakers on January 19.

James will likely need to return to form against the Rockets, who earned their fifth straight win overall and eighth consecutive at home during Tuesday's 98-94 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Ron Artest scored 21 points and hit some clutch free throws down the stretch while Aaron Brooks scored 20 points and Yao Ming and Luis Scola each added 15 for Houston.
