Heat attempt to keep winning streaks against Kings intact

Dec 7, 2006 - 2:53 PM Miami (7-10) at Sacramento (8-9) 10:30 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) - The Miami Heat go for their fourth straight win at Arco Arena and fifth overall against the slumping Sacramento Kings on Thursday.

The Heat are making their third stop of a four-game road trip.

They almost stole their last contest, but Elton Brand nailed a decisive jumper in the closing seconds as the Los Angeles Clippers held on for a 101-97 victory Tuesday.

Dwyane Wade scored 33 points and Alonzo Mourning added 16, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Miami, which made just 3-of-25 3-pointers.

The Heat are 1-1 on their trek.

The Kings absorbed their fourth straight loss following a 127-102 rout to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. Mike Bibby had 21 points and seven assists and Kevin Martin chipped in 13 points for Sacramento, which fell behind, 41-29, after the first quarter.

Kings forward Ron Artest could miss his fourth game in a row due to a sore lower back and forward Maurice Taylor will miss the contest after being suspended for five games Wednesday for violating the league's anti-drug program.
