Pacers aim to improve lousy road mark against lowly Kings

Mar 3, 2009 - 11:44 AM Indiana (26-36) at Sacramento (13-48) 10:00 p.m. EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- After another impressive win at home, the Indiana Pacers are looking to avoid a letdown on the road.

The Pacers open a three-game road trip Tuesday when they visit the lowly Sacramento Kings.

Indiana sits three games behind the Milwaukee Bucks (29-33) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference on the strength of a 19-11 record at Conseco Fieldhouse.

With Sunday's 100-94 triumph over the Denver Nuggets, the Pacers have beaten every division leader besides the San Antonio Spurs this season and recorded home wins against the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic.

However, Indiana is just 7-25 away from home in 2008-09 and has lost 12 of its last 13 road games.

A meeting with the Kings should help cure the Pacers' road woes. Sacramento closed February with four losses in its last five games, including a 102-89 setback to the Utah Jazz on Saturday.
