Final
Lakers host struggling Timberwolves
Mar 6, 2009 - 11:12 AM Minnesota (18-42) at LA Lakers (49-12), 10:30 p.m. ESTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers have not missed a beat with the absence of Andrew Bynum. The same can't be said for the Minnesota Timberwolves since the loss of Al Jefferson.
Los Angeles aims for its sixth straight home win when it hosts woeful Minnesota on Friday.
Since Bynum went down with a torn MCL in his right knee, the Lakers are 12-3, which includes Tuesday's 99-89 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Jefferson suffered a torn ACL on February 9 and the Timberwolves have lost seven straight and nine of 10 without their leading scorer and rebounder.
Minnesota has not even been competitive recently and is coming off a 118-94 setback to Golden State on Tuesday. The Timberwolves were trailing by 29 at the break as the Warriors won their sixth road game in 30 contests.
Randy Foye scored 19 points and rookie Kevin Love had 18 and 14 rebounds to lead Minnesota in the loss.
Kobe Bryant scored 31 points in Tuesday's win for the Lakers, one game after netting 49 in a loss to the Phoenix Suns.
