Blazers continue playoff push vs. T-Wolves
Mar 7, 2009 - 11:21 AM Minnesota (18-43) at Portland (38-23) 10:00 p.m. ESTPORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Despite their loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, the Portland Trail Blazers are alive in the Northwest Division race.
Having looked up at Denver for most of the season, the Blazers are within a single game of the top spot - though the Utah Jazz (39-23) are a half-game back of first place.
The Blazers try to continue their division-title run on Saturday night as they host the Minnesota Timberwolves looking to gain ground in the Western Conference. The T-Wolves have dropped eight in a row.
On Thursday, Portland was the victim of Carmelo Anthony's triumphant return to the lineup following a one-game suspension, as the All-Star forward erupted for 38 points to carry Denver to a 106-90 triumph.
Minnesota fell to the Los Angeles Lakers, 110-90, on Friday as Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol combined for 44 points.
