Pistons aim for fifth straight win vs. Hawks

Mar 7, 2009 - 11:20 AM Detroit (31-29) at Atlanta (34-28) 7:00 p.m. EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons will be looking for their fifth straight win when they face the struggling Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.

The Pistons' winning streak has directly coincided with Allen Iverson's back injury and Richard Hamilton's return to the starting lineup. Detroit had dropped eight in a row with Iverson in the starting lineup and Hamilton coming off the bench.

While Iverson is still considered day-to-day, the Pistons are cruising along, knocking off heavyweights Boston, Orlando and Denver before taking out the Golden State Warriors on Friday. Hamilton scored 22 against the Warriors and is averaging nearly 25 in the last four contests.

The Hawks have dropped six of eight and are coming off a 98-91 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday. Atlanta allowed the Bobcats to shoot 54 percent from the field.

Detroit has lost both matchups with the Hawks this season, including a 98-95 decision on February 12 as Hamilton scored 14 points off the bench on 6-of-16 shooting.
