Hornets aim to keep rolling

Mar 7, 2009 - 11:19 AM Oklahoma City (16-45) at New Orleans (38-22) 8 p.m. EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The New Orleans Hornets try to extend their season-long winning streak to seven games when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.

In the tightly packed Western Conference playoff race, the Hornets are picking the best time of the season to play their best basketball.

Chris Paul collected 27 points and 15 assists Thursday as the Hornets continued their winning ways with a 104-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Tyson Chandler also pulled down 11 rebounds.

New Orleans has won all three meetings from the Thunder, including by double digits. The last meeting was competitive as the Hornets posted a 100-98 win on February 17.

Despite playing without leading-scorer Kevin Durant (ankle), the Thunder have won a season-high three straight. Durant, who has missed the last four games, may return for this contest.
