Bobcats look to extend franchise record vs. Spurs

Mar 10, 2009 - 1:37 PM Charlotte (28-35) at San Antonio (42-20) 8:30 p.m. EDT

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Bobcats will be looking to extend their franchise-record winning streak when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.

The Bobcats' record winning streak has them poised to do something else they have yet to do in their history - make the playoffs. They currently sit one game behind the Chicago Bulls (28-34) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Charlotte is coming off a 114-105 win over the New York Knicks in which Gerald Wallace collected 23 points and 13 rebounds and Raymond Felton added 19 points and 10 assists.

The Spurs are struggling to stay healthy.

Manu Ginobili has missed the past three weeks with a stress reaction in his right ankle and newcomer Drew Gooden has yet to take the floor for his new team due to a groin strain.

Tony Parker has picked up some of the slack, scoring 30 points in a 103-98 win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and averaging nearly 27 points over the last six games.
