Struggling Nuggets hope for turnaround vs. Thunder

Mar 11, 2009 - 6:15 AM Oklahoma City (18-46) at Denver (40-25) 9:00 p.m. EDT

DENVER (Ticker) -- No Kevin Durant, no problem for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder will be looking for their sixth win in seven games without their superstar when they face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Durant was averaging nearly 33 points per game when he went down in the first quarter of a game against the Dallas Mavericks with an ankle injury on February 27. Oklahoma City lost that game but has caught fire since.

The Thunder edged the Sacramento Kings, 99-98, on Tuesday. Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green scored 22 points apiece and Thabo Sefolosha knocked down a pair of free throws in the final seconds to provide the win.

The Nuggets have not been as strong of late, dropping three straight and eight of 11, though only two of those setbacks have come at home.

Denver is coming off a 97-95 loss to Houston on Monday in which it shot just 38 percent.
