Easley leads Murray State past James Madison 71-43

Nov 21, 2009 - 12:20 AM MIAMI(AP) -- Tony Easley had 18 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead Murray State in a 71-43 rout of James Madison on Friday.

Easley, who posted his sixth career double-double, had 15 points and seven rebounds in the first half of the 2K Sports Classic. The Racers (2-1) took a 19-8 lead on an Easley slam dunk and led 36-17 at halftime.

With Murray State ahead by 23 in the second half, the Dukes (0-2) cut the lead to 47-32 with 12:15 left. The Racers then used an 11-2 run to pull ahead by 24 with 8:15 to go.

Murray State held James Madison to 28.1 percent shooting (16-for-57) in the game. The Racers made up for shooting 37.9 percent from the field (22-for-58) by going 23-for-33 from the free throw line.

Murray State also dominated on the boards 53-32.

Danero Thomas and Isaiah Canaan added 12 apiece for the Racers.

Julius Wells led the Dukes with 11 points.
